EPWForge generates and morphs weather files (.epw, .ddy, .csv) for building energy simulation tools — EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, IES VE, eQUEST, and any workflow that consumes EPW. Drop a pin anywhere on the world map to generate a custom Typical Meteorological Year (TMYx) for that exact location, or pick from ~17,000 OneBuilding stations worldwide.
EPWForge exposes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at https://epwforge.com/api/mcp with four consolidated tools: find_station, analyze_weather, chart_weather, and generate_weather_file. Connect from Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor, Goose, or VS Code via the standard MCP wire protocol. Read-only tools work without authentication; downloads require a free or paid API key. Tool responses include an agent_guidance field with judgment-shaping copy so agents land on the right action based on context. See /mcp for the connection guide.
Credit-based. Every plan gets every feature; credits gate volume. Free tier includes 5 lifetime credits. Starter $49/mo (10 credits), Pro $149/mo (50), Pro+ $249/mo (100). One-time top-up packs available: 5 credits / $50, 20 / $180, 50 / $400. See /pricing.
Per-station bias correction validated against 16,906 OneBuilding ASHRAE Handbook reference stations (median cooling DC bias reduced from −0.80 °C to −0.34 °C; standard deviation reduced 6–11% across heating and cooling). Generated EPW and DDY files runtime-tested in EnergyPlus 25.2. Full methodology and validation numbers at /transparency.
